Depending on the business, there can be an age limit of children allowed on flights. This is simply to ensure safety for you and your child as well as the safety of everyone else on the flight.

However, you might be wondering more about if scenic helicopter tours will be fun and entertaining for your child and about other details you might be worried about. Continue reading to find out more about taking your child with you on scenic helicopter tours.

Preparing for a Scenic Helicopter Tour

No matter where you are, a scenic helicopter tour is an amazing experience to have and share with those you love.

Whether you’re flying above Arizona’s Grand Canyon or Florida’s breathtaking waters, the sights will blow you away. Scenic helicopter tours are a great addition to the perfect family vacation, as they provide a unique experience guaranteed to delight everyone on board.

When preparing for your exclusive scenic helicopter tour, there are some things you’ll need to know.

Check if a You Need a Reservation

Depending on where you are, you might need to make a reservation for your scenic helicopter tour.

If you want to reserve a big party, see the sunset, or plan something special, check to see if you need to make a reservation. Some businesses require reservations for any tour and others allow walk-ins throughout the day.

For reference, it is not required that our scenic helicopter tours are reserved. Though encouraged, reservations are not needed to have an incredible experience with us.

Find Out How Many People Can Fly

Depending on the business, helicopter tours offer between 2 to 3 seats per ride. Check ahead of time to figure out how many seats your helicopter offers.

For those with a bigger party, it can be hard to find room for everyone in one helicopter. You may consider splitting your party up to accommodate multiple groups, as our tours allow up to 3 people per ride.

Plan for Time

Scenic helicopter tours can range by time limit. For example, we offer many different tours from 6 to 60 minutes. These are found in our Tour Packages.

Depending on what you want to see and if you want a custom tour, your helicopter tour might range from a short amount of time to a long one. If you have a big party, this will extend the trip time as you’ll have several separate flights.

Plan for time ahead of schedule so that you and your family are prepared.

Can Kids Ride in Helicopters?

Should I take my kids on a helicopter tour? The short answer: yes. Kids are welcome to join a fun tour! Depending on the helicopter tour provider you’re working with, there might be an age limit.

However, some tours allow children of all ages on board. You can bring your child of any age aboard with you on the tour–any passenger 24 months or younger must ride on an adult’s lap, and children under age 5 must be accompanied by an adult as well.

Scenic helicopter tours are fun for everyone and are safe to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

The Ultimate Florida Keys Day Trip Plan

Sunsets, sun, and relaxing by some crystal clear water with a drink in hand.

Read on for some ideas on how to fully enjoy your trip to Key West, Key Largo, islamorada, Big Pine Key, also home to Ultimate HeliTours— Marathon! Soak up all the beauty, fun, and memories the keys have to offer you and your loved ones.

If you’re looking for things to do in the Florida Keys then you should know that even though it’s a small island, this place has a lot to offer. The island and its surrounding areas are a big tourist destination for a reason.

There are certain attractions that most people flock to, like Duvall Street and Mallory Square. These are certainly sights to see, but sometimes you need to explore beyond the most popular destination spots too.

From tourist spots to off-the-beaten-path excursions, there is something for everyone to enjoy on the Florida Keys.

View the Coral Reefs

The Florida Reef Tract is unique for so many reasons. In fact, Florida is the only state in the continental U.S. with reef formations so closely off its coast. The entirety of the reef runs 360 miles long

The various reefs in the area make for an ecologically diverse and productive environment.  Florida’s reef is mostly made up of three different kinds of reef-building coral.

Brain coral is circular and has wavy ridges that make it resemble a human brain. Star coral is also circular but its pattern is made up of round lump-like formations on its surface. Lastly, elkhorn coral has branches that reach up and out and resemble elk antlers.

You don’t necessarily need proper training to enjoy these reefs either. A snorkeling mask and a sense of adventure are all you need to witness the natural beauty of the reefs, especially since they are so close to shore.

If you find yourself close to one of the numerous beaches, you’ll likely have many snorkeling spots to choose from. Explore the coast near Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park, which boasts one of the most favored beaches in the area.

If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can also take a ferry to the nearby island of Dry Tortugas and visit its national park.

If preserving this natural wonder is an interest to you, you can also check out Reef Relief’s Environmental Center. This local program aims to educate visitors about coral reefs and how to help protect them. You can watch short films and read pamphlets on the subject.

You can even learn about coral reefs while enjoying protected snorkeling at Reef Relief’s Key West Marine Park. This park is 40 acres long and is located along Key West’s south shore. Guests can educate themselves while viewing all the wildlife Florida oceans have.

Visit the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum

Ernest Hemingway is considered one of America’s greatest writers. He penned classics like The Sun Also Rises and A Farewell To Arms, literature that is still studied in schools today.

He was also known for revolutionizing American writing with his objective and precise style of prose. As much as he is remembered for his writing, the somewhat contentious writer was also known for his divorces, alcoholism, and infamous death in 1961.

The Hemingway House is where Ernest lived in the 1930s and is located near the Key West Lighthouse. So you could easily visit both attractions on the same day!

The house is famous for its beautiful decor inside and out, its surrounding plant life, and even for the local cats that freely roam the grounds. A sea captain gifted Ernest a six-toed cat named Snow White and descendants of that cat still live on the grounds today.

It was in this home that Ernest finished his semi-autobiographical novel A Farewell To Arms. Visitors can view the trophy mounts from Hemingway’s African safaris and hunting trips that still decorate the inside.

Another interesting feature is the home’s pool, which was the first in-ground pool to ever be built on Key West.

You can walk in and take 20-30 minute guided tours of the home, no reservations or call-ahead necessary. The Hemingway House is open for tours every day, 365 days a year.

You can also visit the shop, which carries everything from tote bags to cat bowls to tranquil island paintings. Of course, the shop wouldn’t be complete without Heminway’s novels, short story collections, and biographical books about the writer.

The property is even available for weddings, elopements, and other special events.

Walk the West Martello Gardens and Fort

If you crave the tranquillity of nature without having to hustle or struggle through a hike, this attraction is for you.

This scenic garden paradise is built on the site of a civil war fort that also includes a tower. The two come together and create a magnificent sight as sprawling nature drapes over the aged structures. It’s equal parts historic landmark and lush, tropical getaway.

Best of all, it is maintained by member-volunteers of the Key West Garden Club, so the site is not only open to the public daily, but admission is also free! You can roam the area on your own and there are also guided tours available by reservation.

The historic Martello Fort was built during the Civil War and is one of the few remaining structures from that era on the island today.

Visitors can walk through the fort and will be able to witness its beautiful vaulted ceilings, historic gun mounts, and a conservatory. The deep red, brick structures left behind from the 1800s are a rare sight to see.

Surrounding the fort are various gardens you can also walk through. You can choose to walk through the waterfall garden, prehistoric garden, native garden, perfume garden, cactus garden, garden by the sea, orchid areas, and even a butterfly garden.

The property also features picturesque gazebo’s, statues, and fountains. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the garden and ocean views as well. Personal photography, painting, reading, and bringing your own picnic to enjoy are all encouraged.

Visitors can also visit the gift shop and peruse their selection of garden-themed aprons, books, gloves, t-shirts, water bottles, or even buy a nice new plant to take home.

Hit the Beach

One thing the Florida Keys are never short on? Stunning, beautiful beaches. The nice thing about these gorgeous islands is that you’re surrounded by your choice of beaches.

There are a few to choose from on each island so you might be wondering how to decide on which ones you want to visit.

It’s best to keep in mind the purpose of your beach visit. For relaxing, you’ll likely want a long stretch of white sand dotted with tropical palm and coconut trees is enough to convince you to lay down your towel and relax.

If you’re wanting proper waves for surfing, research online and ask some of the locals about the spots that are safe and ideal for surfing.

Looking for a playful experience or something better suited for kids? There are many good locations for snorkeling with crystal clear water as well! Or you can also choose to play volleyball or visit a nearby vending truck to buy snacks, drinks, and even rafts.

Whatever experience you’re going after with your beach outing, be sure to arrive early if you want to beat the other tourists and locals.

Check Out the Art Scene

Just because you’re already in the most beautiful parts of Florida doesn’t mean you can’t take a break from the outside world and view another form of beauty, the local art scene.

Luckily Florida’s Keys has a high supply of galleries for art lovers to visit.

Art On Duval Key West is a fine art gallery located on the popular Duval Street. The gallery was started by a man who moved to Key West after vacationing there for many years and falling in love with the area.

The gallery features works from a multitude of artists of both local and international acclaim. There is even an in-house design team that will help you decide which pieces of art would work best in your home space.

If you have an interest or taste for photography, Shady Palm Art Gallery and Photography in Marathon is one to check out for events and artist spotlights. If you’ve got a plane ride home, they even offer shipping options so you can have your souvenirs safely shipped to your residence.

Drink up at the Local Watering Holes

It wouldn’t be island life without sipping on a few beverages. What better way is there to spice up your Florida Keys day trip?

Rub elbows and make friends with locals or get to know other travelers over a cocktail and other beverages.

The keys have no shortage of bars with various atmospheres to pick from.

If you’re looking for a place with a carefree, raucous vibe, then you’ll probably want to end up at the “local” spot. Strike up some conversations with different shop owners or restaurant hosts to get a good idea of some less tourist-y spots.

If you’re looking to sip some rum in a more laid back setting, The Rum Bar in Key West is for you. This cozy bar is located on the ground floor of the Speakeasy Inn and carries more than 350 kinds of rum from around the world.

Before you enter the bar you can take in the old balustrades, or decorative railing, around the second-floor balcony.

These railings feature cutouts of liquor bottles and hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs to sneakily signal that passersby’s could come in for liquor and a game of cards during the prohibition era.

Walk Along Beautiful Residential Streets

It’s fun to do all the normal Florida Keys activities, but sometimes it’s also fun to take a look at what makes up the local life.

If this is what you’re after, you’ll be happy strolling streets that are a little less busy and surrounded by lush foliage and trees. A lot of the time, the houses in the quieter areas are charming and have a vintage-meets-jungle look to them that is unique and shows off the matchless Florida flair.

Eat the Key Lime Pies You’ve Ever Had

It’s rumored that Key West is the birthplace of the key lime pie dessert. So, it’s only natural that you try some of this delicious pastry during your Key West day trip.

Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe has two locations, the most famous being their first spot on the historic Key West Bight at Elizabeth Street.

This shop offers key lime flavors in many recipes, from salad dressing to key lime pie on a stick dipped in chocolate. They even have a whole list of recipes you can try at home so you can bring the flavors of Key West home with you after your travels.

Sweet Savannah’s Bake Shop & Ice Cream Cafe on Overseas Hwy in Marathon offers its own unique version of key lime pie that’s worth a visit!

More than just desserts, this adorable shop sells gifts and books too!

Helicopter Adventures: Top 10 Things to See in Florida

helicopter adventures

Sure, you can visit Florida for the theme parks and the clubs. But, if you want a truly memorable vacation, you have to check out all of Florida’s natural scenery via a scenic helicopter tour in the Florida Keys today!

Florida has a lot to offer, and it’s hard to fit everything into one trip. Why not see a bunch in one go?

The easiest way to take in all of the beautiful Florida landscape is through one of our helicopter adventures starting at just $69!. Keep reading to learn about all the sites you’ll see on one of our scenic helicopter tours over the Florida Keys.

Blue Waters

No matter which of the adventure helicopter tours you pick, you are guaranteed to see gorgeous bodies of blue water. The Florida Keys, especially, are known for their crystal clear water.

You may be wondering, “why do the beaches in Florida have clear, blue water while other beaches have murky water?” Wind and sea conditions determine how clear the water is. Multiple days in a row with light wind and mild waves allow any sediment to drop to the ocean floor, letting the water appear clear.

Seeing the water from the beach is one thing. Being up above the jewel-tone waters in a helicopter is a whole other level.

Incredible Sunsets

If you want an extra romantic helicopter tour, book a Sunset Helicopter Tour. Whether it’s for an anniversary or an extra special date, the Sunset Tour will fly you over the Florida Keys.

The Sunset Helicopter Tour makes for a great date, especially when done with dinner and drinks in the local Marathon, Fl area.

White Sand Beaches

While mainland Florida has miles of beaches, the beaches of the Florida Key’s have picturesque, white sand. The white sand is especially jaw-dropping next to the crystal clear turquoise waters.

On your helicopter tour over the Florida keys, you’ll be able to scope out the peaceful beaches from above. After your tour, you can head over to whatever beach calls your name!

Boot Key Harbor

Boot Key Harbor is relatively close to our helicopter takeoff and landing point in Marathon. When we fly over the harbor, whether that’s on the 6-minute discover tour or no our way to see the other islands, you’ll be able to spot boats docked in the marina, local restaurants, and possible dolphins swimming off the coast.

Pigeon Key

Pigeon Key packs a lot of punch in its 5-acres. The island is home to 8 national registered historical places, including the Pigeon Key and Marine Science Center and the work-camps for the builders of the Florida East Coast Railway.

More so, you may be wondering how Pigeon Key got its name. Originally named Cayo Paloma, the island is said to be named after the white-crowned pigeon that is native to the keys.

Duck Key

Duck Key is located east of our takeoff spot in Marathon. The region is recognized as the midway point between Miami and Key West. The five small islands boast spectacular views of both sunrise and sunset.

Who knows? Maybe after viewing Duck Key from above, you’ll want to visit it by car and relax on the secluded beaches until sunset.

Hawk’s Cay

When you fly over Duck Key, you’ll be able to look at one of the Key’s popular resorts, Hawk’s Cay.

Hawk’s Cay Resort is a 4-star hotel, a spa, multiple outdoor pools, and a private saltwater lagoon. You can check out both Duck Key and Hawk’s Cay in our 15 minute helicopter tour.

Seven Mile Bridge

The Seven Mile Bridge is a landmark you have to see to believe. And what better way to see the whole bridge than from up above in a helicopter?

The bridge connects the middle keys to the lower keys. More so, the bridge you cross over today is actually the new seven-mile bridge.

The first Seven Mile bridge was completed in 1912 and was originally used as a railway bridge. Because the old bridge was built for trains, it felt constricted and narrow with two cars. In 1935, the bridge was later destroyed by the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935.

The New Bridge finished construction in 1982 and still to this day is one of the longest bridges in the US.

Sombrero Lighthouse

The Sombrero Lighthouse, designed by General George Meade, is the tallest lighthouse in the Florida keys at 156 feet. The cast-iron lighthouse was first put to use in 1858.

The lighthouse was deactivated in 2015, and it’s also closed to the public. However, you can still admire it from one of our helicopter tours.

Bahia Honda State Park

13 miles SW of our lift-off point in Marathon, Florida, sits a tropical paradise like no other. Bahia Honda State Park has two main beaches: Calusa Beach near the Bahia Honda Bridge and Sandspur Beach. The park additionally has facilities for snorkeling, fishing, biking, and swimming.

6 Reasons Helicopter Rides Make for a Romantic Adventure

romantic helicopter ride

You’ve decided that it is time to express the full depth of your love. Your partner is your person, and you are sure of it. You are ready to jump in; you are ready to propose.

You know your love better than anyone, and you know they seek the adventure and natural beauty of a tropical destination. The Florida Keys is a special destination for many people, especially if they enjoy the outdoors and find serenity in natural landscapes.

You want to make this moment special while respecting the beauty of the wilderness. You are considering booking a romantic helicopter ride. This way, your partner can enjoy the things that bring them the most peace and make a special memory that will last a lifetime.

Before you book a helicopter tour, there will be many questions you will have. What makes the Florida Keys such a magical destination? What can we expect during the flight?

You will want to make sure you have all the details ironed out before the big day. Planning will make your special moment stress-free and romantic. Keep reading to discover what you need to know to pull off the greatest of romantic gestures.

1. A Romantic Gesture to Top Them All

The word “love” is a noun. Knowing what your mate enjoys is an important part of understanding who they are. As a result, knowing what makes your partner happy and incorporating that knowledge into your daily life improves your relationship.

Furthermore, participating in something your partner enjoys even though it isn’t your thing is a romantic gesture. Going to the chick flick despite your distaste for romantic films. Attending the championship game despite your lack of interest in football.

Even trying the new Mexican restaurant despite your aversion to spicy food demonstrates that you care about your partner.

Imagine if you outdid yourself and engaged in a special moment with your partner. Whether this is on vacation or in the place you currently live, a helicopter ride could be the thing to spice up your routine.

Running errands for your partner or stepping in to finish a project they’ve begun are always good ways to show your love. After all, your lives are interconnected as allies. Taking constructive steps to assist one another leads to the interdependence necessary for a long-term partnership to succeed.

The same can be said of a romantic gesture. If you decide to take note of the mundane details, go out of your way to take some time for yourself and your love. Enjoy one of the spectacular experiences of life. Both gestures will show that you are taking note and taking the opportunity to connect with your other half.

These gestures will make anyone feel noticed and prove you both support your partner and cherish your experiences with them. Even then, pull out all the stops and give your partner an experience you will both never forget.

2. Romantic Helicopter Ride or Sight Seeing Tour?

The good news is it can be both!

A helicopter flight can be an unforgettable way to express your passion for your companion. Allow them to ooh and ah at the stunning sights as you take them on a tour of the island. Nothing shouts romance quite like this concept.

Make a day more for letting loose and having a good time when your significant someone has a wide range of passions. Set aside a day to do their fun hobbies together. Take them out for breakfast at their favorite spot, for a stroll in the forest, a trip to the farmer’s market, or a basket weaving lesson. Whatever you chose must be enjoyable for them and make them feel loved.

Does your special someone love adventure and natural beauty? Start or end their romantic day with this activity that is sure to impress. And fill your lover with a sense of wonder. This may be the thing to ignite the spark in your relationship.

Show how far you are willing to go to make your person feel like there is no one else on the planet who matters. Make some time to see an unforgettable sight together. You’ll never forget these moments.

This adventure activity is romantic in a way that allows you to take in the breathtaking sights of the Florida Keys while you appreciate the company of another.

You should go on a staycation if you and your significant other haven’t had the opportunity to spend any quality time together due to busy schedules. Make a reservation for a suite or bed at a local luxury hotel or a beach house. Enjoy your relaxing and romantic holiday.

Consider the opportunity of a helicopter rides above the Keys if you live in Florida. Enjoy the natural beauty you have become accustomed to. Demonstrate to your partner that you are willing to think outside the box for their pleasure.

3. The Ultimate Helicopter Experience: Seeing the Florida Keys by Air

Don’t bother with the major, serious moments. Small movements made daily are what keep long-term relationships going. Putting in the effort for a little adventure can also go a long way.

Both as a result and an opportunity to surprise someone you love, make small acts of kindness a habit. Please and thank you, and offer respect and appreciation where credit is due.

Hug and touch each other often. Make meaningful rituals that bring you closer together. Make the most of your time spent and go the extra mile.

You should consider doing something that your mate enjoys. Show them their happiness is a priority. If your partner is a nature or wildlife enthusiast, a helicopter tour of the Florida Keys should be an unforgettable experience.

You are not a thrill-seeker; you love adventure but don’t feel it necessary to take it as far as skydiving or parasailing. This adventure will be so stunning you may even forget you’re flying. It is easy to be in awe of such breathtaking surroundings.

Your partner is a little more extreme. They have always wanted to go on a thrill-seeking adventure. A helicopter ride above beautiful, tropical waters may be a good compromise.

When you encourage and listen to each other, prepare for the future together, and share your hopes, your romance will last a long time. A special adventure can lead to conversations that could change your life.

Yes, in love and relationships, it’s the small things that matter. Save the surprises for the important moments. Save a helicopter tour as a unique escape to usher in a new period of romance in your life.

4. Witness the Natural Beauty

Florida’s unyielding beauty is most visible from above. The crystal blue and green waters off the coast provide a home to North America’s largest population of warm-water fish and wildlife.

The Florida Keys National Wildlife Refuges are home to over 250 different bird species. When you see this from a sky-high view, you get to see the keys from an objective standpoint.

Leaving the wildlife to rest and not be disturbed or harmed by boats and human interaction.

Ospreys are abundant in the Florida Keys, where they can be seen perched on bridges and flying about in shallow coastal waters. Osprey nests are massive stick platforms. Built on dead trees, cliffs, artificial nesting posts, and other structures.

Ospreys are white from below, with black spots on each wrist and dark primaries. In-flight, ospreys keep their wings in a shallow “M” formation.

Seeing these formations and these beautiful creatures in the midst of flight is something you won’t soon forget. They will cut through the air like butter and gracefully land somewhere in the marshland.

A Preserved Habitat

The Florida Keys National Wildlife Complex is home to a variety of aquatic birds. The double-crested cormorants are a particularly rare sighting.

These huge black birds with orange bills are sometimes seen perched over the water on powerlines. Resting on bridges or floating low in the water with their long neck above the surface.

The National Refuge was founded in the Florida Keys to conserve and restore the endangered Key deer and other wildlife resources. Despite being surrounded by salt water, fresh water plays an important role. Determining which animals survive and flourish in the various ecosystems.

The sanctuary is unusual in that it preserves 16 species of fish and animals that are vulnerable or threatened by the brink of extinction.

A Variety of Birds

Sawgrass, spike rushes, buttonwood, white-top sedge, and leather fern are examples of wetlands plants. Freshwater wetlands are most abundant and widespread on Big Pine Key. But they can also be found year-round on refuge lands on Cudjoe, No Name, Upper Sugarloaf, Big Torch, Little Pine, and Howe Keys.

The majority of species in the Lower Keys depend on freshwater wetlands to survive. Like most wildlife who thrive here, the keys offer a landscape that supports many different creatures. With a seasonally warm climate for most of the year

The beauty of the wetlands is breathtaking from above, especially if you are lucky enough to have an aerial experience at sunset.

Helicopter rides are a peaceful and noninvasive way to observe a pristine natural habitat without disturbing the delicate ecosystems that call the keys home. If we are responsible for the way we observe and protect the fragile environments on our planet, we can ensure their preservation for generations.

An Abundance of Wildlife

A migrant population of bottlenose dolphins lives in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. As a result, several companies decided to conduct dolphin tours inside this region, putting the dolphins under stress. Several groups developed the Dolphin SMART initiative to help the sanctuary’s dolphins cope with their tension.

This project recognizes businesses that facilitate the safe watching of wild dolphins. This serves to preserve the dolphins’ health while also encouraging visitors to interact with them, often from a safe and protected distance.

Viewing the keys from above is a great way not to cause any damage to the wildlife that thrives there. You will not need to worry that you have harmed a delicate ecosystem that hangs in the balance.

During the winter, locals and tourists to the Keys often see West Indian manatees swimming unhurriedly around the edge of the water or along the shoreline. These big, gentle herbivores prefer shallow, slow-moving waters with seagrass beds or other vegetation.

Manatees typically weigh between 800 and 1,200 pounds and attain a length of around 10 feet. They harvest up to 150 pounds of vegetation per day. Unfortunately, these lovely creatures are on the endangered species list due to human interference to the wetlands.

A Climate Deserving of Preservation

Because of the special limestone geology, freshwater wetlands can be found in the lower Florida Keys. In fact, it is because of these wetlands that we have such a diverse range of plants and animals. Under these freshwater facilities, key bears, alligators, raccoons, the Lower Keys mud turtle, and other animals will not exist.

The wetlands are filled with rainwater and come in various shapes and sizes, including remedy pools, lakes, surface wetlands, and even human-made pest trenches.

Even though the Florida Keys are in a subtropical climate, they are still deeply affected by seasonal variations that impact any other climate. On your helicopter tour, you’ll be able to see many animal populations that are either seasonal visitors or migrating through the region based on the weather.

When you observe the wildlife, it is suggested that you remember their safety and wellness. A great way to see this vibrant ecosystem’s majesty is not to disturb its residence by viewing their habitat on foot.

5. Plan Your Ride

You don’t have to stick to all of the pre-packaged itineraries when preparing a helicopter trip proposal. Although being in the air contributes to the excitement of an engagement, it’s much more thrilling if you’re going past iconic landmarks and places that are meaningful to both of you.

You already have a few different places in mind that you’d like to have a bird’s eye view. But the Florida Keys are always somewhere you have wanted to visit with your special person.  With this detail, you will be able to create a new proposal excursion just for you and your partner.

While some destinations may not be able to coordinate plans for this type of activity, in this case, with enough notice, you can establish the ideal flight pattern for your helicopter trip proposal.

Plan to express your love and devotion while you experience the wonder of the Keys. Tours depart from Ultimate Helitours, Florida Keys Marathon Airport station. Each helicopter seats up to three passengers simultaneously, and we have a two-person minimum per flight. Groups of any size are always welcome, and we will do our best to accommodate them in separate consecutive flights.

We are committed to providing a comfortable experience for all of our guests. Due to space limitations, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs on the helicopter. If you use a wheelchair and transfer from the chair to the helicopter, you are welcome to join us.

Our staff will help you transfer should you need assistance.

Our Pilots and Helicopters

All our helicopter pilots are very familiar with the area and will point out the landmarks as you fly above them. They will also gladly answer any questions you may have while you are your partner and any guests are in flight.

Our fleet consists exclusively of Robinson R44 helicopters produced by the world’s leading manufacturer of civil helicopters. The open-cabin design allows every seat to be a window seat and offers excellent, unobstructed visibility.

Each passenger has their own headset with a built-in microphone, allowing them to communicate with other passengers and the pilot.

We encourage all passengers to bring cameras. The helicopter cockpit provides a great photographic opportunity! In the Robinson R-44, every seat is a window.  Once you are seated in the helicopter, have fastened your seat belt, and have your headset in place, you are welcome to take pictures or videos.

Cameras with wide-angle lenses tend to work the best within the cockpit. Telephoto lenses are also great for taking close-up photos of the marine life below.

We recommend that our passengers limit their alcohol consumption to a minimum before their departure. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone based on our observance of any peculiar behaviors or attitudes.

Although the Keys is one of the most alcohol-friendly towns in the nation, our priority is our passenger’s and pilots’ safety.

The safety of our passengers and crew is our priority. We have a perfect safety record. We are meticulous about the safety measures taken by our company and continuously ensure 100% adherence to stringent maintenance guidelines.

Our helicopters are maintained by FAA-licensed mechanics and authorized Robinson dealers. Weather in Florida is highly unpredictable. However, most afternoon showers don’t last more than 10-15 minutes at a time. If weather disrupts your scheduled flight and we are not able to reschedule you for another time or day, we will, of course, issue you a 100% refund.

6. Educate Yourself by Seeing

There are many reasons to enjoy The Florida Keys, but they wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the magnificent coral reefs surrounding this magical location. Changing environmental conditions are putting pressure on the reefs these days. The Coral Restoration Foundation in Key Largo and the Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research and Restoration field station for MOTE Marine Laboratory in Summerland Key are also working to protect the Florida Keys coral reefs.

You will hear about the effects of the climate on Florida’s reefs as well as efforts to recover vulnerable staghorn and elkhorn corals, two of the reef-building creatures with the highest chances of survival. Take a step in bringing awareness and preparation attempts to the pristine beauty of The Florida Keys.

Are there any other things you’d like to do on your proposal day? Perhaps you want to go to a certain restaurant for dinner, or you want to see another part of the keys. The more events you have planned, the more careful planning you’ll need to do.

Perhaps your partner values ecologic preservation and would love to discuss ways they may help and bring awareness to what is happening with the wildlife and coral reef ecosystems in Florida. If the person you love is an advocate for wildlife and natural preservation, taking them to see the Keys will reinvigorate their sense of passion for sustainability.

In terms of time, you’ll want to leave yourself some wiggle room while organizing. Don’t schedule any of the events so closely together that every interruption throws everything else out of whack.

The other events should ideally be planned around your helicopter flight. This is because your helicopter flight would take place within a certain time period. This is particularly valid if you have a specific itinerary in mind.

Aerial Tours in Florida: Stunning Views From the Sky

aerial tours

The Florida Keys are magical from the air by helicopter. With the blue-green water, the coral reefs, and the abundant history, it is easy to see why so many people dream of visiting. Famous artists and writers from Judy Blume to Jimmy Buffet to Ernest Hemingway have made the Florida Keys their home.

What is the best way to experience the Keys? For many people, helicopter tours are the answer. These tours offer the best photo opportunities while also offering a private experience for you and your family or partner.

A New Perspective on the Islands

If you have been vacationing in the Florida Keys before, you know that this place has a unique beauty all its own. But Florida aerial tours can provide you with a whole new perspective on this unique part of the state.

When flying overhead, the white and yellow houses and businesses pop out from between lush clusters of dark green leaves. The boats and yachts shine in the glistening harbors. The bridges stretch farther than what seems possible.

Getting out over the islands can be just what you need to fall in love with this beautiful place.

Helicopter Tours Over Sparkling Blue Waters

For many people who live inland or further North, the water like we have in the Florida Keys is a marvel. With its turquoise glow and clarity, the water in the Keys has been drawing visitors for years.

From the helicopter, you can see the signature blue/green hue and the white trails of boats floating through the water.

The Florida Keys is home to the United States only coral barrier reef—something that you should see from above.

Marine Wildlife Like You’ve Never Seen Before

Because of the heat, the coral reef, the abundant vegetation, and the freshwater wetlands, the Florida Keys is home to an amazing amount of wildlife. If you are walking along the coast of the islands, you are sure to see some species of birds and fish. However, the best way to see as much wildlife as you can is through Key West helicopter tours.

From the air, you can see the extent of the coral reef, flocks of different species of birds, and some larger species of marine wildlife. Dolphins and manatees are plentiful in this area, but it might be difficult to get close to them in the water. Manatees can weigh up to 1,200 pounds!

With a helicopter tour, you can observe the movements of these majestic animals. You can do this without getting so close that you are disturbing them or their habitat.

Get in Touch With History

If history, engineering, and architecture interests you, then a helicopter tour of the Florida Keys is a must. For example, you can spend 20 minutes flying over Seven Mile Bridge. The older bridge in this area, the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge, was built back in 1912, and it was one of the longest bridges ever built at that time.

However, automobile and pedestrian traffic have been closed. They are planning repairs this year, but for now, the only way to experience this amazing piece of history is through aerial tours and boat tours!

Helicopter tours can view another amazing historic site called Pigeon Key. This small island is only five acres, but it has eight buildings on the National Register of Historic Places!

The Florida government put this beautiful, 142-foot lighthouse out of commission in 2015, and the island that once housed 400 workers is now a base of educational and nonprofit work.

Experiencing this island through Florida helicopter tours is an amazing way to get in touch with the history of the Keys.

Finish Your Day With an Amazing Sunset Tour

Maybe you want to see your lighthouses while standing firmly on the ground. Or you want to explore the reef with a snorkel in your mouth and fins on your feet.

One view that just can’t be experienced any other way is a sunset from the view of aerial tours. You can see the light change and dance across the islands and the water. You can watch as the lighthouses, bridges, and trees turn into nothing but dark silhouettes. And in the background, a backdrop of brilliant pink and yellow and orange sky.

If you want a romantic view to share with your romantic partner, or you want a special experience for your family or friends, then a sunset heli tour is an amazing choice.

Go Local: How to Choose a Local Helicopter Tour

helicopter near me

Helicopter tours pride themselves on beautiful, breathtaking views, once in lifetime moments, and romantic getaways. Having different packages ranging in price, duration, and the number of attractions can make choosing the right tour increasingly difficult.

So you may be wondering, “how do I select a helicopter tour near me?” Well, don’t worry, we got your back! From looking for safety requirements to comparing prices, you can learn how to select the right helicopter tour for you.

Now, are you ready to get started? Here’s an in-depth look at selecting the best helicopter tour:

Consider the Duration

Sometimes the duration of the trip makes it or breaks it. Normally helicopter tour packages come with different time durations ranging from 6 minutes to an hour. Make sure you choose a tour that best suits your needs.

After all, the allotted time will determine how much time you spend in the air and the number of attractions you see. With that in mind, think about how long you want to be up there and what you want to see. It will help you narrow down the selections.

Compare Pricing

To narrow down your options, look at each tour’s prices for the duration and attractions you want. Ask yourself, is the price worth it? Does it give you a good value for your money, or can another company do better?

If you’re unsure of the exact package you want, go to a third-party site like Expedia or Trivago to see a thorough comparison of each company and their package pricing. Having it, all laid out can help you visually see the difference between one company vs. another.

After all, comparing prices is one of the best ways to determine which helicopter tour you want. However, don’t just choose the cheapest option, as it may not always be the safest or have the most popular views. Instead, look at the package details carefully to determine which trip is the best for you financially.

Read Online Reviews

Now when you’ve narrowed your choices to two or three, check their online reviews through third-party sites like Google, Yelp, or Tripadvisor. After all, you don’t want to waste your money on a company that has regular bad customer service, long waits, or sometimes overcharges its customers with hidden fees.

Instead, through their reviews and see what recent customers have to say. Don’t feel bad; 95% of travelers consult online reviews before booking.

However, try not to take their word at face value. Instead, look for patterns in their reviews.

Also, see if the company has publically replied to any negative comments or offered anything to supplement the bad service. If they have, it shows that the company understands what they did wrong and wants to fix it. Thus, they’ll unlikely to continue to make that mistake again.

Find a Helicopter Near Me

Finding the right helicopter tour can take some time but don’t just pick the cheapest option. Instead, look at their safety requirements, consider pricing, duration, and seating before making a final decision. Don’t forget to read reviews about the company and its overall service.

After all, you don’t want to end up with a helicopter company that you paid extra for only for you to see minimal views. Just research the company and its packages, and you’ll end up with a great tour. Now, if you’re interested in purchasing a tour in a helicopter tour near me, contact us today.
